Do eyes with and without optic neuritis in multiple sclerosis age equally?

Eyes with a history of optic neuritis (ON) in multiple sclerosis (MS) show similar long-term retinal nerve fiber layer thinning as unaffected fellow eyes. This finding suggests ON-affected eyes can be included in longitudinal MS neurodegeneration studies using optical coherence tomography (OCT).
