Peripapillary microcirculation in Leber hereditary optic neuropathy

Spectral-domain optical coherence tomography angiography (OCT-A) revealed significant peripapillary microvascular network abnormalities in Leber hereditary optic neuropathy (LHON) patients with vision loss. These findings suggest microangiopathy contributes to vision impairment in this mitochondrial disorder.
