Correlation of Adventitial Vasa Vasorum with Intracranial Atherosclerosis: A Postmortem Study

Vasa vasorum (VV) are present in nearly half of human intracranial arteries, particularly in vertebral arteries. Their presence in vertebral arteries correlates with more severe atherosclerosis, including heavier plaque and calcification.
