Summary

  • Some radiologists use an alphanumeric grid image before biopsy to mark the target skin location.

Purpose of the Study:

  • To evaluate the impact of pre-biopsy alphanumeric grid images on stereotactic biopsy efficiency and accuracy.
  • Assessing the effect on total images, procedure time, and need for retargeting.

Main Methods:

  • Retrospective review of 463 prone stereotactic biopsy cases targeting calcifications.
  • Analysis of images, reports for image counts, retargeting instances, and biopsy table time.
  • Statistical comparison between cases with and without grid images.
