Summary

Epidermodysplasia verruciformis is a rare genetic skin disorder causing susceptibility to human papillomaviruses (HPVs). This case highlights a 30-year-old man with early-onset lesions and discusses management strategies.

  • Epidermodysplasia verruciformis (EV), or Lewandowsky-Lutz syndrome, is a rare genodermatosis.

Observation:

  • The case involves a 30-year-old male with verrucous and pityriasis versicolor-like lesions since age 4.

Findings:

  • Human Papillomavirus types 5 and 8 are frequently implicated in EV lesions.
  • While common in the general population, these HPV types are pathogenic in EV patients.
