Summary

Strategic stroke location significantly impacts cognitive function after stroke, more than atrophy or lesion volume. Understanding these neuroimaging markers is key to predicting cognitive outcomes in stroke survivors.

  • Strategic stroke location is a primary driver of cognitive impairment post-stroke.
  • A combined approach using quantitative structure loss and qualitative strategic lesion assessment improves understanding of cognitive outcomes.
  • Further research should integrate these markers for better prediction of cognitive function after stroke.
