Vagus nerve stimulation modulates the cranial trigeminal autonomic reflex

Noninvasive vagal nerve stimulation (nVNS) significantly reduced tearing in healthy volunteers by modulating the trigeminal autonomic reflex. This finding suggests nVNS may help treat headache syndromes linked to this reflex.
