In the seventeenth century, Isaac Newton performed experiments with lenses and prisms and was able to demonstrate that white light consists of the individual colors of the rainbow combined together. Summary

Novel organic-inorganic di-ureasil hybrids were synthesized for solid-state lighting. These materials emit tunable red, green, and blue light, enabling efficient white light generation for potential use in white-light emitting diodes.
