- After adjusting for risk factors and heart rate, only reduced baseline pulse amplitude remained significantly associated with atrial fibrillation.
Conclusions:
- Peripheral vascular function is compromised in individuals with atrial fibrillation.
- These associations are largely explained by age and traditional cardiovascular risk factors.
- Noninvasive vascular function measures did not significantly improve the ability to discriminate individuals with atrial fibrillation.
