Purpose of the Study:

  • To evaluate the validity and between-day repeatability of the Loadsol insole for measuring landing kinetics.
  • To compare Loadsol measurements with force plate data during single-hop and bilateral stop-jumps.

Main Methods:

  • Thirty healthy athletes performed single-hop and stop-jump tasks while wearing Loadsol insoles (100 Hz) and standing on force plates (1920 Hz).
  • Peak impact force, loading rate, and impulse were calculated for the dominant limb, and limb symmetry was assessed.
  • Intraclass correlation coefficients (ICC) and Bland-Altman plots were used for validity and repeatability analyses.

Main Results:

  • Loadsol demonstrated moderate to excellent validity (ICC: 0.686–0.982) and repeatability (ICC: 0.616–0.928) at 100 Hz.
  • The 200 Hz Loadsol showed improved validity (ICC: 0.765–0.987).
  • While Loadsol underestimated some load measures, bias was not observed for limb symmetry outcomes.

Conclusions:

  • The Loadsol insole is a valid and repeatable tool for assessing landing kinetics.
  • It can be utilized in clinical settings to evaluate biomechanical factors related to anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury risk.
