  • To evaluate the immunogenicity, allergenicity, and immunotherapeutic efficacy of a chemically modified peanut extract (MPE) adsorbed to Al(OH)3.
  • To compare the safety and effectiveness of MPE with unmodified peanut extract (PE).

  • Peanut extract (PE) was chemically modified to create MPE.
  • Allergenicity was assessed using IgE-binding and mediator release assays with patient sera.

  • Al(OH)3-adsorbed MPE exhibits reduced allergenicity while preserving immunotherapy efficacy.
  • Preclinical data supports the further development of modified peanut allergens for immunotherapy.
  • This modified peanut extract represents a promising candidate for peanut allergy treatment.
