  • Data were collected from 92 nurses working in surgical clinics in Turkey.
  • A data collection form, developed from literature review, was used, and data were analyzed using SPSS 12.0.
  • Main Results:

    • Only 39.1% of nurses perceived themselves as responsible for obtaining informed consent.
    • While 90.2% informed patients before interventions, only 32.6% obtained consent, with 90% of these being verbal.
