Limited scientific data exists on hospital design tailored for child and adolescent psychiatry.
Current understanding of architectural impacts on psychiatric recovery is insufficient, particularly for pediatric populations.

Purpose of the Study:

To provide an overview of hospital design concepts relevant to child and adolescent psychiatry.
To develop architectural strategies addressing the specific needs of children and adolescents during psychiatric recovery.

Main Methods:

Literature research conducted using PubMed.
Inclusion of architectural and anthroposophic bibliographies.
Synthesis of general convalescence principles with psychiatric-specific spatial and color considerations.

Main Results:

General principles supporting recovery include access to daylight, nature, reduced noise, and privacy.
Spatial structures and color are identified as key elements for fostering social interactions among patients and staff.
