Purpose of the Study:

  • To investigate the morphological features of choroidal vasculature in patients with ED.
  • To analyze choroidal thickness, specifically the small choroidal vessel layer (SCVL), in ED patients using optical coherence tomography (OCT).

Main Methods:

  • Compared choroidal thickness, including SCVL, between 39 ED patients and 19 controls.
  • Defined ED using the International Index of Erectile Function (IIEF) questionnaire.
  • Calculated SCVL thickness by subtracting Haller's layer (large choroidal vessels) from total choroidal thickness.

  • SCVL thickness was significantly lower in the ED group (55.1±19.9 μm) compared to controls (69.8±24.3 μm).
