Conclusions:

  • The sensor-based UEF test is a feasible and easily administered tool for assessing frailty in hospitalized COPD patients.
  • UEF-derived frailty measures effectively risk-stratify patients for unfavorable discharge and 30-day readmission.
  • This objective assessment method supports improved management strategies for COPD patients.
