The quick Sequential (Sepsis-related) Organ Failure Assessment (qSOFA) shows limited use in the ICU for predicting mortality. However, qSOFA outperforms the systemic inflammatory response syndrome (SIRS) score in the emergency department for sepsis risk assessment.
