Summary

Post-SSRI sexual dysfunction (PSSD) can persist after antidepressant discontinuation. A 3-month L-citrulline-based supplement (EDOVIS) helped one patient regain sexual function, suggesting nutraceuticals as a potential PSSD treatment.

Background:

Post-SSRI sexual dysfunction (PSSD) is a persistent clinical entity following antidepressant use.
Characterized by genital hypoesthesia, loss of libido, and erectile dysfunction.
Current treatment options lack consensus.

Observation:

A case study of a young male patient experiencing PSSD.
The patient underwent a 3-month treatment regimen with EDOVIS.
EDOVIS is a dietary supplement containing L-citrulline and aphrodisiacs.

Findings:

The patient regained sexual functioning after the 3-month EDOVIS treatment.
This suggests a potential therapeutic role for the supplement in PSSD management.
L-citrulline and other aphrodisiacs may help mitigate PSSD symptoms.

Implications:

Highlights the possibility of persistent sexual side effects from serotonergic antidepressants.
Suggests clinicians consider nutraceuticals for managing PSSD.
Warrants further investigation into the efficacy of L-citrulline and aphrodisiacs for PSSD.
