Background:

  • Direct oral anticoagulants (DOACs) have been available in the Czech Republic since 2008 as alternatives to traditional anticoagulants.

  • To evaluate drug use and expenditure patterns of anticoagulants in the Czech Republic.
  • To analyze the market penetration and economic impact of DOACs compared to older anticoagulants.
