Oenococcus sicerae sp. nov., isolated from French cider

Two novel bacterial strains, Oenococcus sicerae sp. nov., were identified from fermented apple ciders. These non-motile cocci represent a new species within the Oenococcus genus, confirmed by genomic and phenotypic analyses.
