  • Farnsworth D15 and Lanthony desaturated D15 (D15d) tests were employed.
  • Hue ordering errors (C-index, S-index) and Bland-Altman analysis were used to quantify color vision performance.

Main Results:

  • No significant differences in color vision were found using the standard Farnsworth D15 test.
  • The third-trimester group showed significantly higher C-index and S-index on the D15d test compared to non-pregnant and first-trimester groups.
  • Bland-Altman analysis indicated increasing error limits and bias towards the D15d test as pregnancy progressed.

Conclusions:

  • Color vision is impaired in pregnant women, especially in the third trimester.
  • The Lanthony D15 desaturated test is more sensitive to pregnancy-related color vision changes.
  • Color vision assessment may serve as an indicator for central visual function during pregnancy.
