Area of Science:

  • Cardiology
  • Pharmacology

Background:

  • Combined ischemic heart disease (IHD) and arterial hypertension (AH) present a significant clinical challenge.
  • Effective management requires addressing both conditions simultaneously.

Purpose of the Study:

  • To evaluate the efficacy of a fixed-dose combination of perindopril arginine and amlodipine.
  • To assess its impact on blood pressure, cardiac function, and ventricular structure in patients with IHD and AH.

Main Methods:

  • A 3-month study involving 32 patients with IHD and AH.
  • Utilized 24-hour ambulatory blood pressure and ECG monitoring.
  • Assessed left and right ventricular structural and functional parameters via ultrasound.

Main Results:

  • The combination therapy demonstrated significant positive effects on ventricular geometry, structure, and diastolic function.
  • High anti-ischemic and antihypertensive effects were confirmed.
  • Significant improvements in cardiac parameters were observed.

Conclusions:

  • Fixed-dose perindopril arginine (10.0 mg) and amlodipine (5.0 mg) is effective for patients with combined IHD and AH.
  • This combination therapy offers benefits for cardiac structure and function.
  • The treatment shows significant antihypertensive and anti-ischemic efficacy.
