Semantic verbal fluency decline in Parkinson's disease (PD) is linked to longer disease duration, older age, and comorbidities like cardiovascular disease and psychiatric symptoms. Monitoring fluency can identify patients at risk for reduced quality of life.

    • Verbal fluency monitoring is recommended for evaluating cognitive decline in Parkinson's disease (PD) patients.
    • Psychiatric symptomatology and cardiovascular disease are modifiable risk factors impacting verbal fluency.
    • Verbal fluency testing can help identify individuals at risk for diminished quality of life and increased caregiver burden, enabling targeted interventions.
