Perceptual learning of task-irrelevant features depends on the sensory context

Visual perceptual learning (VPL) can be influenced by task-irrelevant stimuli, even when subliminal and unrelated to reinforcement. Learning magnitude increases when irrelevant features are perceptually similar to relevant ones.
