Often, psychologists develop surveys as a means of gathering data. Surveys are lists of questions to be answered by research participants, and can be delivered as paper-and-pencil questionnaires, administered electronically, or conducted verbally. Background:

The American College of Radiology (ACR) conducts annual workforce surveys to assess the composition of the radiology profession.
Understanding workforce trends is crucial for strategic planning and addressing potential staffing shortages.

Purpose of the Study:

To determine the current makeup of the radiology workforce.
To identify hiring plans for new staff within radiology practices.
To gain insights into the profession's dynamics.

Main Methods:

Electronic surveys were distributed to leaders of radiology practice groups.
Data collected included workforce composition by subspecialty, hiring numbers for 2017, and projected hiring for 2018-2019.
