The Fracture Risk Assessment Tool (FRAX) accurately predicts osteoporotic fracture risk without bone mineral density (BMD) in most cases. This makes FRAX a cost-effective alternative to dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DXA) where access is limited.

- FRAX serves as an inexpensive and effective alternative when dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DXA) is not accessible.
