The Neuroprotective Peptide PACAP1-38 Contributes to Horizontal Cell Development in Postnatal Rat Retina

Pituitary adenylate cyclase-activating polypeptide (PACAP1-38) promotes retinal cell differentiation by selectively inducing horizontal cell proliferation during the first postnatal week in rats. This signaling pathway may influence retinal patterning and retinoblastoma development.
