Purpose of the Study:

  • To investigate the prevalence of functional constipation (FC) and constipation-predominant irritable bowel syndrome (IBS-C) in a Pakistani population.
  • To characterize constipation subtypes using the Bristol Stool Form Scale and analyze demographic differences in symptom reporting and treatment.

  • A cross-sectional study involving 396 adult patients presenting with constipation at two Karachi clinics.

  • Accurate symptom assessment is vital for tailoring constipation management strategies to individual patient needs.
