A New Tomato-Infecting Begomovirus in Barbados

A new bipartite begomovirus, Tomato leaf curl Barbados virus (ToLCBBV), was identified in Barbados tomato plants. This whitefly-transmitted virus caused severe leaf curling and was detected in other cucurbits.

- This finding expands the known diversity of whitefly-transmitted geminiviruses in the Western Hemisphere.
