    Area of Science:

    • Pediatric Pulmonology
    • Medical Imaging

    Background:

    • Tracheocele, a rare congenital anomaly of the larynx, can lead to recurrent respiratory symptoms in children.
    • Early diagnosis and appropriate management are crucial for improving outcomes.

    Observation:

    • Three male pediatric patients presented with tracheocele, characterized by recurrent catarrhal affections and frequent cough.
    • Clinical presentation included persistent coughing and susceptibility to respiratory infections.

    Findings:

    • Analytic and roentgenographic studies were performed to evaluate the tracheocele cases.
    • Diagnostic imaging confirmed the presence and extent of the tracheocele in all three patients.

    Implications:

    • Conservative management is recommended for uncomplicated tracheocele.
    • Surgical intervention and/or antibiotic therapy should be considered for cases with complications.
    • This study highlights the importance of considering tracheocele in the differential diagnosis of persistent cough in children.
