Summary

Rare genital and skin diffuse B-cell lymphomas can be challenging but respond well to R-CHOP therapy. A 74-year-old patient achieved no recurrence at 2 years, showing good treatment outcomes are possible.

Background:

  • Diffuse B-cell lymphomas (DBCL) rarely involve the genital system and skin simultaneously.
  • Concurrent presentation complicates treatment strategies for these rare lymphoma subtypes.

Observation:

  • A 74-year-old female patient presented with rare concurrent genital and skin involvement of diffuse B-cell lymphoma.
  • The patient received R-CHOP (Rituximab, cyclophosphamide, doxorubicine, vincristine, prednisolone) chemotherapy without surgical or radiation intervention.

Findings:

  • The patient experienced no recurrence of lymphoma at a 2-year follow-up.
  • Both genital and skin DBCL subtypes demonstrated favorable response to anthracycline- and immunotherapy-based treatment.

Implications:

  • This case highlights the efficacy of R-CHOP in managing rare extranodal DBCL presentations.
  • Despite a generally poor prognosis, effective treatment options exist, leading to good patient outcomes.
  • Further research into optimal treatment protocols for rare lymphoma manifestations is warranted.
