Consumptive coagulopathy is associated with organ dysfunction during PICS

Persistent inflammation, immunosuppression, and catabolism syndrome (PICS) in sepsis survivors is linked to blood clotting abnormalities. This study reveals PICS involves microthrombi formation and impaired lung function, suggesting consumptive coagulopathy.
