Abstract:
Recently in Cell Reports, Zhao et al. report that chemo-resistant (reserve) hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs) are maintained in the endosteal niche under the influence of N-cadherin+ bone-lining cells (Zhao et al., 2019). These findings further indicate that niches for bone marrow HSCs may differ dynamically during physiological and stress hematopoiesis.
