[Sexual disorders among men with myotonic dystrophy]

Sexual function was studied in 15 males with myotonic dystrophy. For this purpose a structural analysis was employed and blood levels of gonadotrophins and testosterone were radioimmunoassayed. Peculiar endocrine disorders were found to be largely responsible for disruption of the neurohumoral component of the copulative cycle. The results of the study may be useful for the treatment of sexual disturbances in myotonic dystrophy and for the differential diagnosis.
