Summary
This study reports a rare case of head and neck paraganglioma co-occurring with papillary thyroid carcinoma in a 51-year-old man. The association may be coincidental or linked to an unidentified genetic mutation.

Findings:
- Fine needle aspiration biopsy confirmed papillary thyroid carcinoma in the thyroid nodule.
- Surgical resection revealed both paraganglioma and papillary carcinoma.
- Genetic analysis for succinate dehydrogenase subunit D germline mutation was negative.
Implications:
- The co-occurrence of paraganglioma and papillary thyroid carcinoma may be coincidental.
- An unknown genetic mutation could underlie this rare association.
- Further research is needed to elucidate the potential mechanisms linking these two neoplasms.
