Abstract:
In the published version of this article, the images for cytoplasmic and nuclear FGF7 in MDA-MB-231 cells were duplicated and mistaken for total FGF7 in SKBR-3 and MDA-MB-231 cells.
Insights
This study corrects image duplication errors for fibroblast growth factor 7 (FGF7) in MDA-MB-231 and SKBR-3 cells. The corrected images accurately represent FGF7 localization and levels in these cancer cell lines.
Area of Science:
- Cell biology
- Molecular biology
- Cancer research
Context:
- Fibroblast growth factor 7 (FGF7) plays a role in cell growth and differentiation.
- Accurate representation of protein localization is crucial for understanding cellular mechanisms.
- Previous publication contained image duplication errors affecting FGF7 data.
Purpose:
- To correct and clarify the representation of fibroblast growth factor 7 (FGF7) in specific cancer cell lines.
- To ensure the integrity and accuracy of published scientific data.
- To rectify image misidentification in the original article.
Summary:
- The published article mistakenly duplicated images of cytoplasmic and nuclear FGF7 in MDA-MB-231 cells.
- These duplicated images were incorrectly presented as total FGF7 in both SKBR-3 and MDA-MB-231 cells.
- This correction addresses the misrepresentation of FGF7 protein in these cell lines.
Impact:
- Ensures accurate data for future research on FGF7 in breast cancer.
- Maintains scientific integrity and reproducibility.
- Provides a reliable reference for cellular localization and expression of FGF7.
