    Summary

    Pancreatitis in dogs impairs platelet function, decreasing aggregation and adenosine triphosphate release. This platelet dysfunction occurs despite normal platelet counts and prostaglandin levels, suggesting other mechanisms like fibrin degradation products may be involved.
