Tracing Hepatitis E Virus in Pigs From Birth to Slaughter

Hepatitis E virus (HEV) infection is common in pigs, posing a food safety risk. Maternal antibodies reduced HEV shedding, suggesting sow vaccination could lower HEV prevalence in market-ready animals.
