Summary

Lower thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH) and higher free thyroxine (fT4) were linked to metabolically healthy non-obesity (MHNO) in Korean adults. These thyroid hormone levels may indicate better metabolic health in non-obese individuals.

  • Decreased TSH and increased fT4 values are associated with the metabolically healthy non-obesity phenotype.
  • These associations varied by age and sex.
  • Further research may elucidate the role of thyroid function in maintaining metabolic health in non-obese individuals.
