This study introduces a dense ultra-short (DUS) fiber Bragg grating (FBG) array with an improved optical frequency domain reflectometry (OFDR) interrogator for precise crack tip sensing. The system accurately monitors strain distribution around cracks, enhancing structural integrity assessment.
