    Purpose of the Study:

    • To assess the efficacy of alfentanil as a sole anesthetic agent for abdominal surgery.
    • To evaluate hemodynamic stability during alfentanil-based anesthesia.

    • Twelve patients undergoing abdominal surgery received alfentanil via a predetermined infusion regimen.
    • Neuromuscular blockade was achieved using vecuronium or pancuronium.
