Linear Mitochondrial Genome in Anthozoa (Cnidaria): A Case Study in Ceriantharia

The mitochondrial genomes of two tube anemone species were sequenced, revealing unusual linear structures, not circular ones. This unique mitogenome structure in Ceriantharia is distinct but uninformative for their exact phylogenetic placement.
