    Summary

    Multiple sclerosis patients showed a significant decrease in T8+ lymphocytes within four weeks of relapse onset. However, this T8+ cell reduction cannot reliably predict future multiple sclerosis relapses.

    Background:

    • Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a chronic autoimmune disease affecting the central nervous system.
    • T-lymphocyte subsets play a crucial role in immune regulation and have been implicated in MS pathogenesis.
    • Understanding T-cell dynamics during MS relapses is vital for disease management.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To investigate the serial changes in peripheral blood T-lymphocyte subsets in patients with multiple sclerosis.
    • To determine if T-lymphocyte subset alterations correlate with disease activity and relapse onset.
    • To evaluate the potential of T8+ cell counts as a predictor for MS relapses.
