Deviations in palatal region between indirect and direct digital models: an in vivo study

• A consistent pattern of palatal trueness was observed in most participants (22/35).

Conclusions:

• The sequence of intraoral scanning significantly affects palatal trueness.
• Optimal palatal scanning involves initiating the scan at the palatal side of posterior teeth.
• Adjustments to the superimposition region are recommended for accurate 3D PVR analysis.
