Is Panoramic Imaging Equivalent to Cone-Beam Computed Tomography for Classifying Impacted Lower Third Molars?

Panoramic radiography (PR) is comparable to cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) for assessing mandibular third molar impaction relative to the occlusal plane. However, PR may underestimate impaction space, and the external oblique ridge is an unreliable landmark.
