Exercise upregulates copeptin levels which is not regulated by interleukin-1

Exercise increases copeptin levels in healthy males, independent of fluid intake and sodium. This rise in copeptin, a marker for arginine vasopressin (AVP), is not influenced by Interleukin-1 (IL-1).

- Exercise consistently elevates plasma copeptin levels in healthy males.
- This elevation is independent of hydration status and serum sodium.
- The Interleukin-1 (IL-1) pathway does not appear to regulate exercise-induced copeptin release.
