The association between thyroid hormone balance and thyroid volume in patients with Hashimoto thyroiditis

In euthyroid Hashimoto thyroiditis patients, larger thyroid volumes correlate with higher free triiodothyronine (FT3)/free thyroxine (FT4) ratios. Levothyroxine treatment reduced these ratios, suggesting altered deiodinase activity in enlarged thyroids.
