Identification of Macrophage Genotype and Key Biological Pathways in Circulating Angiogenic Cell Transcriptome.

Circulating angiogenic cells (CAC) are genetically similar to regulatory M2c macrophages, not endothelial cells. This finding clarifies the genotype and immune-modulatory function of CAC in vascular biology.
