Severe allergic contact dermatitis secondary to nitroglycerin in a transdermal therapeutic system

Abstract:
We describe two cases with a rare adverse effect of severe allergic contact dermatitis secondary to usage of a disc containing nitroglycerin. The causal agent is most probably trinitroglycerin as was demonstrated by skin patch testing using the North American Contact Dermatitis Group Method.
