Association between cholelithiasis and sialolithiasis: Two longitudinal follow-up studies

- The HR for cholelithiasis in the sialolithiasis group was 1.18 (95% CI = 0.53-2.59, P = .69).
- Statistical analyses did not reveal a significant association between cholelithiasis and sialolithiasis.
Conclusions:
- This large-scale cohort study found no evidence of an association between gallstones and salivary stones.
- The findings suggest that cholelithiasis and sialolithiasis may develop independently.
- Further research could explore other potential risk factors or pathogenetic mechanisms for each condition.
