Abstract:
The predominant forms of folate found in monkey liver three days after parenteral administration of 3H pteroylglutamate contained five and six glutamyl residues and were primarily the 5-methyl, with lesser quantities of 5- and 10-formyl tetrahydro derivatives. Formation of polyglutamate forms occurred more slowly in kidney. A complex mixture of the polyglutamates was also found in intestinal mucosal cells.
